Ladybug Birthday Party

Miss Roo is two! Saturday was the big day. Her much anticipated par-tay! I worked really hard on this party. Mostly to keep the cost down, but also so it would be exactly as I wanted it for her. All that matters to her is spending time with her friends and our family. So that was the focus. I wish I had someone else to take pictures because then I would have had lots more. But I was so very busy that there wasn't much time for pictures. But here are a few of our favourites from the day!

More ladybug stuff...

Here are a few more photos of the things in the works for Roo's big party!

This is a game I made out of a huge box. I painted a ladybug on it leaving spot for holes. Basically it will be like beanbag toss. I picked up a bunch of mens socks from the Dollar store and balled them up and the kids will toss them through the holes. (Though the hole had not yet been cut out in the pic).

This is the ladybug crown I made for Roo to wear.

Cutlery all pretty with diy napkin rings
Decorated bucket of diy wrapped cutlery

These are the favors I made to hand out to the adults at the end of the party. Ladybug chocolates on little cards I made to thank guests for coming to her party.

Mom vs. the Sickies

The whole family has been sick for the past 3 weeks. It all started with Roo coming home with a coldthat got quite bad. Lot's of sleepless nights due to her cough. The next week she had just gotten back to school and she came home on the Friday with pink eye! Yuck... This wound up being spread to both Aussie and Hubby. Niiiiiice.... Week 3 brought us the joy of gastro intestinal issues. Ruari was flu like for 3 days and the boys also wound up with it. Finally everyone was all b etter and life getting back to normal..

Or so I thought!

Roo wound up with the cold all over again, so we are back to dealing with that now.

I have a weakened immune system from having cancer and going through radiation, and oddly I didn't get ANY of it. AWESOME!!!

What will next week bring? I'm almost scared to ask!

Roo turns 2

Next week miss Roo turns 2. I don't know where the time went but I need to start thinking about making her yearly slideshow. I made one last year to put in her keepsake box, photos of her first year put to song. I love it, but it makes me cry. She not a baby anymore she a little girl, and compared to her friends she looks so much older. I am not ready for her to grow up.

Next week I'll post more about her birthday and the festivities but for now I'll leave you with the slideshow from last year feel free to watch if you like that sort of thing.

Sidenote: I love my kids more than I ever could have understood before before entering mommyhood almost 13 years ago.
