A scrapin' I must go....

It's been a long time since I have scrap booked. I must say children make for excellent motivation. After perusing the net for some nice word art I found this site called Elegant Word Art. Bethany makes wonderful word art that can be used for so many projects. If you have a moment you really should go have a look. I know you'll love her hard work as much as I do.

Here are a few of my most recent layouts. They are all about my newest child. My sweet little girl Ruari...

Thanks for looking. Have a great day!

Scrapbook supply organization- "The ScrapRack"

Hey everyone! Okay, you have all seen what my scrap space looks like. For those of you who forget or didn't see it. Take a peak at my scrap space. It looks nice and every thing but the drawers are a different story everything is just kind of in there. Things are hard to find, you know what I mean right? Well, here's my question for you all. Right now I have some of my stuff in an old CM tote, from when I first started scrapbooking. It opens like a binder and has all the pages for embellishments, stickers, alphas etc. It doesn't hold very much and it was specifically designed for CM product which I don't use anymore. So it is awkward trying to put other things in there. I want to see how you have your alphas, sticker and all other embellishments sorted. Do you do it by theme, colour, type of embellishment?

I got a brochure in the mail for the "Scrap Rack" it looks like a great idea. An easy system to use once set up. The protectors come in all different styles which is very scrap friendly. Everything from pockets for embellishments to a fiber board to wrap your fibers around, so even they can be at your finger tips. Take a look at their site for more info.

This photo gives you an idea. Go here for the details on how it organizes your space.

It really is quite remarkable. Pricing is listed on the site, you can buy packages or purchase specific items separately. I can not offer any kind of product review as I do not have one myself but I wanted you all to see something new in the scrap world.

Would you buy and use this or do you have a technique that works really well. If so tell me about it in the comment section. I would love to see your pics, so link to them or drop me an e-mail to snipitsofme@netscape.ca

Happy scrapping!

Desperately seeking snaps!

Basic Grey's Magnetic Snaps:

Have you seen these?
Are they new?
Am I not up with the trends?
Why on earth can I not find them here in Canada?

All of these questions need to be answered! But seriously these are so freaking amazing. I love them! I found out about these just yesterday and have been everywhere looking for them. Nope... no one here has them. I am going home to Toronto for New Year's so I hope to have a bit of time to go hunting there. Rest assured when I do find them I will provide feedback to you all. I will write a review of the product. Before I can do that I must find them first. I am now on a mission, my scrappy friends. Go here to see a demo of these amazing little accessories!
Have you used them already? I wanna see your pictures and hear what you have to say about them. Drop me a line to let me know. If you are like me and have never heard of them before now, please let me know. (Maybe that way I won't feel so bad!)
Yay for Basic Grey! My hats off to you fine folks for such a great idea, you are always reinventing the wheel for all of us scrapbookers!

Another Little Project

Here is a mini album I was working on for my Mom. Just a few quick pics of it. In total I think there are around 16 pages. I had a ton of fun making this one. I kept it simple as far as the layouts of the pages and the colour scheme was pretty basic. best of all it is purse size so she can show of her cute grandson from anywhere! All in I I love the way it turned out. Notice on the cover one of Heidi Swapp's fabulous chipboard letter! I love them.

Just wanted to share that real quick before I wrap it all up for Christmas.
Have a scraptastic day,
Coleen

*EDITED* Oh so yummy!

*Edited original post to add picture now that Blogger is functioning again.*

I found the sweetest tote ever! It is a buttery looking faux leather, and comes in green black and yes PINK! I totally love it. I was all excited about it (since I need a new tote.) but I knew I shouldn't get my hopes up. It is not sold in Canada. I first found it online at Costco. So of course I skipped right over to Costco.ca . Not there, so I did a bit of research and can't find it here at all. Anyway. Maybe Santa will think I am such a good wife/mother/chauffeur/chef/scrap goddess/decorator/maid/laundry doer/grocery shopper... (grasping at straws here...) Well you get the idea. Here's crossing my fingers it makes it to Canada 'cause I am head over heals in love with this bag. And without further ado here it is in all it glorious pinkness (wait is that even a word??)

TA DA!!!!
Sorry.. Blogger had prevented me from attaching the photo earlier. Baaad Blogger.... I guess I should ask Santa for a Typepad account.
Thanks for looking!

And the winner is........

Due to Blogger having a ton of outages lately I was not able to post the winner yesterday. However I have randomly drawn a name out of a hat. I typed each persons "name" on a slip of paper and had my son pull one out. It was, of course, randomly selected from all of the people who offered suggestions.

I had to change the prize because it was to large to ship safely so I went a different route. Should see they tell me in the next month or so. Let me know when you see it Colleen. So I don;t have to worry!

CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

Click to see this image larger
This is my newest scrapbook layout. It has actually taken me quite some time to complete. it was tedious but the end result is a "quilt" page full of memories. I had a blast thinking about all the things in my life as a child again. I can say that after doing this all by hand I wouldn't do another one like it. Just too time consuming.
Drope me a line & let me know what YOU think of it. What do you like? What do you hate? What is your initial response to it as soon as you see it? I appreciate the feedback!
Have a scraptastic day!

1st blog...

Wow, it seems everyone has a blog these days. So I figured the bandwagon looked safe enough to jump on. I plan to use this as a bit of an outlet. A place to get things down. Weather it be just to get them off my chest or a place to post my scrapbook stuff. Right now I take over the dining room table when I want to scrap. I would REALLY love a
scraproom like the one I found today. This lady is amazing, such an inspiration. Full of great ideas, and best of all she seems to be a fairly normal "regular" type gal like the rest of us. Mom, wife scrapper. Take a look at her blog: you'll see what I mean.

Anyway, this is and has been my goal. We have very limited space where we are and have recently decided a move would suit us well. I was talking to a friend about wanting to move and have an extra room to be a scrap room. She acted like I have 6 heads and couldn't understand why I would want to pay more for a room to "play crafts" in. Grrrr. "Play crafts" like my love of scrapbooking is for kiddies and not us grown ups. Of course she has no hobby so I guess she just doesn't understand the fire behind it. I hate.. No no no... I LOATHE have to bring it all out and pack it ALL away everytime I want to work on it. Ok, I do feel better no that I got that off my chest. Hmmm, maybe this blog thing will be good for me after all. Please drop me a comment and let me know how YOU feel about my need for more space. Is it a good reason to upsize or not?

Oh, and by the way, that's me up there. I'm Coleen, nice to "meet" you!

Ta ta for now folks.
