These are the cutes sets of boxes I have EVER seen, so funky! Dare I say they look a bit like CBX paper! Am I right? At the moment they are all empty. I didn't really have an urgent need for them, but I am an impulse shopper... eeek! I couldn't decide which I liked best so in the cart they all went! No problem I can buy more scrap goodies to put in them.. (How twisted is that logic? C'mon admit it you are the same way.) Anyway I feel like I am starting to bounce back and wanted to take the time to post something.
***I NEED YOUR HELP***
I have had these really cool 5x7, 1940's gangster shots of Austin (I so love them!). Here is the problem: I really want to scrap them. Every time I pull them out, I draw a complete blank. I need inspiration. Give me your ideas! If you submit a suggestion before Oct 27th your name will go into a draw for a surprise gift from yours truly. You could be the one with the inspiration I need.
As always thanks for stopping by!
XOXOXO
How about an old newspaper page...like he's a "Wanted" man...definitely something "aged"...maybe your title could be "Wanted" or "Reward"...you could make up a "crime" he did such as being too cute, stealing your heart, etc. I don't know if this is where you wanted to go with it or not, but it's an idea.
ReplyDeleteThose really are the cutest darn boxes...I love them.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to think about the picture advise and get back to you. :o)
Flair is coming out with this adorable paper that I think would be perfect.

Geez...re-reading this, I sound like SPAM! I'm not...I swear!
Hi Coleen ... I found your blog through a post you left on Andi's blog. I have visited your blog for the first time today ... and it is AWESOME!! I looooooove the picture of your son and the things you have created (especially the dirty socks page).
ReplyDeleteHere's my idea for the picture ... I recommend using black/off white papers with red paper highlights of some kind and a title such as "Waddaya Mean??" there's no more (whatever he loves). Just my idea ... I hope someone offers something fun & clever for these awesome pictures!
I have no good ideas how to scrap it but it is adorable! I kinda like the first gals idea altho the rest were good too. good luck :)
ReplyDeleteand I do love those boxes!
I love you boxes. Where did you get them?
ReplyDeleteFor the photo, what about using quotes from a few gangster movies?
Dog bite" I was going to suggest a wanted ad but I am late...oh, well, What about a "Today's Child" magaxine cover, LOL! Cute photo!
ReplyDeleteHi Coleen,
ReplyDeleteI tried to find the "email me" button, but I missed it. Thank you for your kind words about my living room renovation. The green is from Lowes: Olympic: Asparagus. I'm almost positive that is the name. Thanks so much!
Oh, cute photo!
ReplyDeleteI'd use one of the "western" fonts which should work as a 1920-30 "gansta" theme. Use a short but promiment title of one or two words: like "My Gangsta",
"Wanted", "Look-Out", "Beware", "Trouble". There's a ton of free fonts out there and if you don't have an approp. one, let me know and I'll see what I have to send you. Colors: browns/tans/blacks maybe on a white Bazzill paper?
That cute photo makes me think of "Home Alone II" when Kevin McAllister is watching "Angels with Even Filthier Souls" and the gangster says, "All right, I believe you, but my tommy gun don't!"
ReplyDeleteHave you seen Cosmo Cricket pp? I think it would go very well with this pic...which is great btw!
ReplyDeleteSo that's my suggestion - Cosmo Cricket paper & "Wanted".
Bob Damon's Bikeshop! Someone already said my idea.
ReplyDeleteI got some old time pics with friends and also had this problem. I did the whole "Wanted" thing with mine.
So how's this? I don't have a title in my head, but am thinking some ledger paper would need to be in the layout somewhere. You know those mobsters kept ledgers so no one could cheat them. Hmmm, still leaves the color up for grabs. I think between the photo and the ledger paper, you could combine any more muted colors for the "mobster" effect.
Does your son get an allowance? Or have odd "jobs" to earn money? Maybe journal about those, or what he is "hoarding" his loot (in the picture) for. Maybe he has been wanting something in real life for a while. This could be the pic of him "saving" up.
Okay, that's it, i can't think of any more. Maybe if i was in a more creative spot than my desk at work. Not to many scrappin vibes here. Ha!
Tell your son he looks adorable.

Oh, had to add, if you have any transparencies (sp), they would look awesome around this photo. Nothing too wide. but that might be an easy way to give the layout color.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, maybe there is one or two scrappin vibes floating by here at work.

I think that 7 gypsies paper would also go well with this photo. Something antique. Ohh and that Gaffer tape they have called Attention. http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/shop.asp?derMars=2300921047710F272A009
